The Dangerfields - Dirty Wee Demo  Northern Ireland's famous tipsters The Dangerfields release their punishment upon the world via a one take-onto-4-track cassette which sounds like more booze was inhaled as the session rocks on. Living up to their name, this band won't get any respect, that is unless you're into Irish Pub Oi! that keeps the till dry and the pints flowing. Fans will shoot their wads as the first cut "Let's Get Fucked" blazes into "U Suck" (an ode to the Queen and the Brits maybe?), and you're off from there. The Dangerfields "Rock N Roll" hasn't shit to do with Zeppelin, and "Fucking Up" pretty much speaks for itself. Throughout the tape the guitar remains gritty, the drums and bass tight n fast and the vocals just as it should be, a working class growlin' yell which doesn't pull any punches. You get the idea this band will fuck you up in a street fight, and that's being polite about it. It is the song "Wasted" that says it all, this is an underground classic if there ever was one! All you lads and lassies best get out the camcorder, cause mum n dad need to know what you've been up to with all that beating and bangin coming from upstairs as The Dangerfields wail away "I'm Wasted Again!" Hell Yeah! Another snocker is "Fuck The Scene", need we say more? This band gigs alot, and from what I hear you'd best be loaded and ready to party when you get there, when you're on the isles look 'em up, it's more than worth your attention. Sick On The Bus - Punk Police / Suck On  GoKart Records has released two very sought after discs by UK powerhouse punk band Sick On The Bus and for fans and collectors this two disc set is the shit. If you're unfamiliar with Sick On The Bus get familiar because this band kicks it hard. Mostly UK old school at the bottom line, SOTB also have a strong Oi! and post-punk style with a bit of reggae thrown in for god knows why. Whatever, make sure you have plenty of beer when you slam these discs. Punk Police is the late 90's powder keg that pulls out such new classics as "Everything's Shit" and mixes it up with old school metal tunage "I Don't Think So" and the street grinding "Scary In The Dark". Sick On The Bus give us the pit monster "Punk Police" to finish off this disc and it's fuckin' awesome. A more group of nice lads you'll not find for dinner wit mum. The album Suck On Sick On The Bus is a couple of years older than Punk Police but no less powerful. SOTB bring home the beer with the classic "I Don't Believe", a song based in reality no doubt with it's shout out and speedy riff. "Make It On My Own" opens with a fast riff that goes into a tight fast groove like a truck full of gasoline running through parliment as the band tells you they don't need you, and to go fuck yourself. FUCK YOU! Those two words you cannot miss the meaning. Overall SOTB are tighter than a virgin pussy and they have no problem getting in your face with it. They end the album blazing through "I Like You", which if this is their love song, all I can say is on your kness motherfuckers. Dirty Old Men - Beer On   Whatever you think of the music you gotta love the cover of this disc! (See frontpage of this webzine). In all honesty, the music is cool beer-drinking street punk. These guys seem like a hoot (the inside picture of the Ryan Mann - drums - with beer in hand and puke all over his shirt says it all), and stuff like their love songs "Kick My Crotch" and "Preschool Whore" only confirm their hankerin' for crankin'. Dirty Old Men slam through 20 masterpieces of punk indulgence on this disc obviously not caring who they piss off. Everyone from the federal government (Cyborg Regan) to animal rights-activists (Kitty) are fodder for the dirty old cannon, and I ain't talkin the rebel and yank kind either (well, maybe yank....)! These dirty chaps keep a slammin' beat (I think the drummer was a bit straighter when they recorded, then too, maybe not) throughout and lots of fuzzy buzz saw guitar sounding like it's through a pignose amp and vocals via John Kuntz (also doing the guitars) and Ryan Conner (also bassist) very much in the Dead Kennedys vein. The longest song here is one minute and forty nine seconds, which is just fine for todays kiddies brought up on Britney and the Back-Door Boys. I really believe The Dirty Old Men would do either one doggy style, and not regret it but enjoy it. My favorites are the ode to the cops on "Dirtchute Greghorn", and the emo-core "Anorexic Football Floatation Device", plus who can forget rover taking a big dump in your yard on "Shitmine". It's all a set up for the blast of "Use Your Fucking Turn Signal", now that's rock n roll. You won't find Dirty Old Men gigging at the county fair, but you'll find them harassing the kids and old ladies out in the parking lot. Hey little girl, want some candy? Contact: 1623 E. Feign - Feignism   I actually reviewed this over a year ago in one of the webzines, maybe the Underground Sound, yet after the police trashed my studio it appeared magically on my computer's disc player. Now I understand why the cops were so angry (besides the fact they thought they had a major drug dealer and I didn't even have a roach in the house), Feign is angry garage punk rock. Not so much fast as raw, Feign was fronted by Peter Lindqvist who is never at a loss for words (I love the line "I want to be like Tommy Lee and get Pam to fuck me") and isn't a bad geetar player either. He's not in the band anymore, so I suppose if you're looking for a band Feign needs you if you're into alternative punk. Feign mix garage with grunge and indie to produce a kind of loud racket with lots of high hat, virtually no bass and a few lines of lead. To their credit Christian Samuelsson is really a good drummer and Sami Rusani might be good, if you could only hear him. To top it off this disc sounds like it was recorded direct to two track or maybe a four track, but I "think" it's in stereo. Top cuts are "To Become" and "Show Of Fakes" (isn't that what to feign means?). The band has some new, improved songs available for download on their website, you don't owe them anything but hell check them out. Oh yeah, did I mention these guys are from Sweden, or does that really matter? Contact: http://www.feign.net

Two Man Advantage - Don't Label Us  This is great fucking stuff. Full of explosive energy Two Man Advantage rip fast out of the gate with the title cut and only get faster as the record progresses. They actually (could) have a radio hit with New Season, and they definitely have an underground hit with Opinionated Motherfucker. Hot Rod GTO is another hit that will keep the pits happy as well. Sometimes Two Man Advantage remind me a little of early thrash, and I love that they use lead guitar following the melody alot. This band can go from hardcore to oi in a flash. They break cool, like the quicks and the graduals on Saturday Night. More than a few songs just end in the end of a phrase. A couple of lame tunes, but hey it's punk rock. Yes, a bit of emo-core too, but hey no band is perfect. What the fuck is Ya Ya Yo? I don't watch hockey, but I learned alot about it while listening to this album. Then you've just got classic shit like Broken Bottle Rock N Roll. I think the title of the album says it all. Two Man Advantage have a lot of different faces, different looks, but it's all about having a good time. Old Tyme Hockey says it all......."we're gonna rock n roll!" The Goons - No Leaders The Goons are on American Punk Records, a more fitting name there couldn't be, or *gasp* American Metal. You can't call the Goons anything but heavy. They top their trade with "Media Bombardment" and give us another classic in "Self Destruct". I think it's the singer's voice more than anything that gives this band it's metal edge. He reminds me of somebody, actually quite a few, underground metal singers from the mid-80's. The Goons can rock like alot of those great bands, check out "Young Man". That could be Krokus (remember them, they were big) in the Hardware era.. This is definitely a punk rock band though, as they clearly demonstrate on "Closing Time In America". I think The Goons are what east coast power defines. Their blending of styles at times produce masterpieces of rock n roll. They fucking jam like angus and the boys at their best, and we know everywhere you go, they call that rock n roll. This is it at it's finest, The Goons are at that level sonically. Just listen to "RTD" blasting along propelled by the riff from hell, the smooth vocal rant. The fucking Goons got this thing going on, in the underground it's called "giving them hell". Maybe you only be so lucky as to have The Goons cranking "Never Say Die" the day they throw your punk ass in the hole!
